BEING DIFFERENT IS POWERFUL! AT PINEWOOD ELEMENTARY
Being Different Is Powerful! is a 270-foot community mural at Pinewood Street Elementary led by Serrano and created with 250 students, staff, and families, celebrating the school’s cultural, racial, ethnic, and accessibility diversity as a source of collective strength. The mural also features keystone plant and animal species of the Los Angeles Forest and Tujunga, expanding the idea of diversity to include our interconnected relationships with the natural world.
This project was made possible by the California Arts Council's California Creative Corps Artist and Culture Bearer Fellowship.
